Events
Funded by Scottish Government, SCCR runs a series of free in-person and online training sessions, workshops, seminars and conferences across Scotland. Our events for young people, parents/carers and those working to support families focus on conflict resolution as a means of early intervention which improves relationships and lives, and ultimately reduces youth homelessness.
Our bespoke Mediator and Mediation Skills Training course, accredited by Scottish Mediation, is a training program for professionals and practitioners that not only equips them with the latest in mediation theory and practice but also offers a supportive environment for honing skills. Email sccr@cyrenians.scot for more information about any of our events.
Training
The training examines conflict resolution as a life skill which can be used by anyone irrespective of their role. Training and events are open to parents/carers and young people to attend and we welcome participation from everyone.
Collaboration
SCCR designs and delivers training for organisations and groups across Scotland. We can deliver training in-house to organisations or groups, and we are keen to work in partnership with others. If you are interested in hosting a training event or have an idea for a seminar or local event, please contact us via sccr@cyrenians.scot.

Event Feedback
"[Today I learned about the] different ways to solve conflict, different types of conflict, how to handle emotions and about our brains."
"I have made use of SCCR training and resources online to support a young person following incidents where they hadn't coped. Using two of the videos allowed the young person to open-up and have the language to talk about their feelings in terms of Lizard and Monkey brain. It was the first time the young person has been able to talk about a situation and reflect on what happened."
"As a new carer, [the SCCR training] was very informative. [I] got some contacts from others and will use them as needed. [I heard] good training tips and others’ stories. "
